How Does Orthodontic Insurance Work?
There are many different agreements between insurance carriers and their subscribers, and each contract provides a slightly different benefit. Orthodontic insurance generally differs from regular medical insurance in that it rarely pays for orthodontic treatment in full. The benefit is paid as a percentage of the orthodontic professional fee until the maximum has been reached.

Each insured individual usually has a lifetime maximum benefit for orthodontic services. This benefit may vary from as little as $500 to more than $2,000 depending on the type of insurance purchased. Unfortunately, charges for lost or broken appliances are rarely covered by insurance.

How will our office assist you with your insurance?
Our office will generate a customized insurance form on our computer that describes the orthodontic problem(s), the required treatment, Insurance Formsthe length of treatment time, and the financial arrangements for your individual case. Please bring an original, signed insurance form to our office so that we may complete the additional information necessary to process your claim. We will submit the completed form in a timely fashion to your insurance carrier to apply for partial reimbursement of your orthodontic fees.

How can you maximize your benefit?
It is important for you to understand thoroughly your dental insurance benefits before any treatment begins. If you are not sure, please contact your insurance company so that you know exactly what benefit is provided for orthodontic treatment. Although we will apply all of your insurance payments to your account, please remember that you are ultimately responsible for all charges incurred in our office and that you are personally responsible for any balance not paid by your insurance company. We sincerely appreciate your understanding in this matter.
